The Hood

Hey guys,

This is a different type of post. Over the last two weekends I have been going to the Hood on Streatham High Road. I wanted to write a blog post about it as I really like it.

It was opened by a brother and a sister along with a lot of crowd funding.

There are two menus, a brunch menu and an evening menu. I have never tried anything from the evening menu but I love the brunch menu.

The first time that I went to the Hood, I had some amazing American pancakes with salted maple butter. You could have them with hot smoked pig cheek or sausage patty. I had them with hot smoked pig cheek (like bacon). They were so nice and the balance of salt with the sweet maple syrup was really nice. The dish came with three pancakes and I was barely able to finish them. They were so nice and I would 100% recommend them to anyone.

The second time that I went there, which happened to be this weekend, I had more of a lunch from the menu. I had roast rump of lamb, peas, baby gem, lovage and wild mushrooms. The dish had amazing presentation and was served with Jersey royal potatoes. The meat was pink but not too pink, the sauce was very flavoursome and the veg was perfectly cooked. For pudding I had dark chocolate tart with clotted cream, you could also have milk ice cream or salted peanut parfait (which I forgot to photograph). The serving was quite small but the tart was very rich and with something slightly lighter was really nice.

The first time that I went I had a really nice latte and this time I had some fresh orange juice. They have a wide range of English wines that they get from vineyards that they know personally. They also have lots of amazing specials available with both drinks and foods.

I strongly recommend this restaurant. I am yet to try the evening menu but I very much look forward to it and I hope you try this restaurant soon.

Please tell me what you think of this type of post. It is not the usual but I am always looking for good recommendations.

Thank you for reading. Don't forget to look at other blogs and subscribe to see more.

Xx.
