Simple but Yummy Strawberry and Banana Smoothie

Hey guys,

So summer is finally here in England!!!!!!! I am so happy as I can finally get in my shorts and sunbathe in the sun with my friends. England can be so hot and miss with the weather so thought that so would try and make the most of it with some summer food and drink recipes.

Today's recipe is going to be a strawberry and banana smoothie. I love having smoothies in the summer as I think that they are the perfect drink to help cool you down but you still enjoy amazing flavour.

Ingredients:

7 large strawberries
1 large banana
3/4 cup of milk
1 scoop of ice cream

Method:

1. Simply put all the ingredients into a blender (NutriBullets are good) and whizz until smooth. You can add more milk if it is too thick.

2. Pour into a glass and add some extra
ice to make this drink even more cooling.

I hope that you enjoyed this recipe and please check out any other recipes that I have done in the past

Tear and Share Stuffed Loaf

Hey guys,

So it is now June and the weather is getting a lot warmer in the UK. Lots of the upcoming recipes will be for picnics and summer events. I have seen lots of cool recipes that I think will be quite cool to show you and when I start up my YouTube channel maybe I can film them.

This recipe is a tear and share loaf which can be had at parties or when you go out for a picnic. I love these kind of recipes as you can try lots of different flavours. You can put pretty much whatever you want. Some recipes have meat and lentils which make for a very filling dish.

Ingredinets:

500g pack of bread mix, ciabatta works well
145g of tub of fresh pesto
3 roasted peppers, chopped
250g of mozzarella ball, chopped
handful of basil, diced

Method:

1. Make the bread dough as it says on the packet and instead of adding the oil add 1 tbsp of pesto. Leave the dough to rise until double in size.

2. Grease a springform tin with oil and mix together all the ingredients apart from 2tbsp of pesto and 1 tbsp of chopped peppers.

3. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball then flatten into discs. Divide the pesto-veg filling between the 12 pieces of dough, then shape back into balls by pinching the edges together and rolling until smooth. Arrange the dough ball in the springform tin. Cover with a piece of oiled cling film and leave to prove until doubled in size.

4. Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Remove the clingfilm and scatter over the remaining pesto and chopped peppers. Bake in the oven for 50 mins or until golden. Leave to cool in the tin for 10 mins and then remove and leave until completely cool.

Then it is ready to eat and enjoy x

Two Tiered Marble Cake- My Mum's Birthday Cake

Hey guys,

Today I thought that I would share with you the recipe that I have done for my mum's birthday cake. I have put a twist on this cake and added a cream in the middle.

Ingredients:

200g of caster sugar
200g of unsalted butter, softened
4 eggs
130g of self-raising flour
90g of cocoa powder
1 tsp of baking powder
2 tsp of milk
450ml of double cream, whipped
Small pack of  Maltesers, to decorate

Method:

1. Preheat the oven to 190C/170C fan and line or grease two Victoria sponge tins.

2. Beat the caster sugar and the butter together in a large bowl. Once pale and fluffy and in the eggs, one at a time.

3. Then add in the flour, little by little. Split the mixture in half, keeping one half in a bowl and to the other half add the cocoa powder.

4. Add 1/2 tsp of baking powder to each mixture, if it needs loosening up add in some milk.

5. Then add half of the chocolatey mixture to each cake tin and do the same with the plain mixture. Then, using a skewer swirl the mixture together. Pop in the oven for 20 mins or until it bounces back when you touch it softly.

Displaying FullSizeRender.jpg6. While the cake is cooling on a wire rack, whip the cream until it creates soft peaks. Then leave to rest for a couple of minutes and pop it into a piping bag with a rose shaped nozzle.

7. Put a layer of cream on the top of one of the cakes once it has cooled. Then sandwich the other layer of cake on top. Then do ........... swirls around the edge of the cake and pop a malteser on each of the swirls.

You can then enjoy! If you want to make this for the next day just bake the cakes and assemble when you want to eat it so that the cream has not gone overly stiff. If you bake this cake or any other recipe from my blog then please use the hashtag #bakingwithbbb. Thank you,

Xx.

Keeping fit and healthy

Hey guys,
Here is a different type of blog post but I thought that you might like it.

This is about keeping healthy and staying fit as I think that it is very important. Recently I have been getting into running. I am doing this for my own benefit, to keep healthy and tone up. I have never been too keen on sports as I have never had particularly good PE teachers. I do think that keeping fit is important. It can help with self-esteem and body confidence for many people.

Doing exercise isn't always about loosing weight, It can also be about toning up for summer. When I am more toned up I feel so much more confident with my body.

I have been using the Nike+ running app in order to help beat my previous records and improve generally.

For me having the right kit helps me to get into a good mood and make me more motivated for any exercise that I am doing. My current favourite outfit is:

H&M rash vest in orange, £7.99

H&M sports bra in grey, £12.99

H&M 3/4 length running trousers in black, £19.99

Doing exercise isn't the only thing that keeps you healthy. If you have a good diet then you will have a good health. Just remember that you only have to do this for yourself.

Love you all and thank you for reading my blog.

The Hood

Hey guys,

This is a different type of post. Over the last two weekends I have been going to the Hood on Streatham High Road. I wanted to write a blog post about it as I really like it.

It was opened by a brother and a sister along with a lot of crowd funding.

There are two menus, a brunch menu and an evening menu. I have never tried anything from the evening menu but I love the brunch menu.

The first time that I went to the Hood, I had some amazing American pancakes with salted maple butter. You could have them with hot smoked pig cheek or sausage patty. I had them with hot smoked pig cheek (like bacon). They were so nice and the balance of salt with the sweet maple syrup was really nice. The dish came with three pancakes and I was barely able to finish them. They were so nice and I would 100% recommend them to anyone.

The second time that I went there, which happened to be this weekend, I had more of a lunch from the menu. I had roast rump of lamb, peas, baby gem, lovage and wild mushrooms. The dish had amazing presentation and was served with Jersey royal potatoes. The meat was pink but not too pink, the sauce was very flavoursome and the veg was perfectly cooked. For pudding I had dark chocolate tart with clotted cream, you could also have milk ice cream or salted peanut parfait (which I forgot to photograph). The serving was quite small but the tart was very rich and with something slightly lighter was really nice.

The first time that I went I had a really nice latte and this time I had some fresh orange juice. They have a wide range of English wines that they get from vineyards that they know personally. They also have lots of amazing specials available with both drinks and foods.

I strongly recommend this restaurant. I am yet to try the evening menu but I very much look forward to it and I hope you try this restaurant soon.

Please tell me what you think of this type of post. It is not the usual but I am always looking for good recommendations.

Thank you for reading. Don't forget to look at other blogs and subscribe to see more.

Simple Margarita Pizza

Hey guys,

Here is a simple margarita pizza. You can add any toppings to it if you would like but it is just as good classic. Makes one pizza.

Ingredients:

olive oil, for the tray
200g of plain flour
7g packet of dried yeast
1 tsp of sugar
125ml of warm water
85ml of passata (tomato paste)
100g of mozzarella half grated, half chopped
2 tbsp of parmesan
small bunch of basil, chopped but leave some for serving

Method:

1. Heat the oven to 240C/220C fan/ gas 9. Oil a baking tray that is roughly 20 x 24 cm. Mix the flour, yeast, 1/4 tsp of salt and sugar in a bowl. Then stir in the water and knead to a dough. Spread out on the oil tray to make a base. You can have it as thick or as thin as you want.

2. Spread the passata evenly over the base, leaving a little bit of room from the edge for the crust. If you would like add a bit of salt and pepper to season the passata. Then sprinkle the chopped basil and the parmesan evenly over the top.

3. Then pop in the oven for 15- 20 mins or until evenly baked. Remember not to check just the edges but underneath. Then take out of the oven sprinkle on the remaining basil and serve with a side salad.

I hope you liked this simple but yummy recipe. Please leave comments and subscribe.
