Here are some drinks to go with our Afternoon Tea series for our blog.
Citrus Iced Tea (non alcoholic) Serves 4-6
Ingredients:
6 ordinary tea bags 2 tbsp of caster sugar
10 springs of mint
300ml of fresh orange juice
juice 1 lime
1/2 a sliced orange and mint to serve
Method:
1. Make the tea in a pot with 1.2 litres of boil hot water, sugar and the mint. Then leave for 10 mins to infuse, then strain. Leave until cooled.
2. Pour into a jug and add the orange juice, lime juice, mint and plenty of ice.
Pimm's Iced Tea (alcoholic) Serves 4-6
Ingredients:
4 tea bags
100g of caster sugar
juice of 2 large oranges, plus extra wedges to serve
juice of 2 lemon, plus extra wedges to serve
400ml of Pimms No 1
a few sliced strawberries and ice to serve
Method:
1. Put the teas bags and half of the mint into a large jug with 1.2 litres of boiling water. Leave for 10 mins to infuse, then strain and add in the sugar. Leave to cool.
2. Once cooled remove the mint, add in the lemon and orange juice, Pimms, strawberries and ice. Then serve
Classic Tea
At Tea parties it is important to have a selection of teas, Earl Grey, peppermint, camomile, fruit, herbal and, of course, English Breakfast.
